What
is Reiki?
Reiki is a natural healing method that uses the hands of a healer
to channel energy to a
person or animal through energy centers or chakras. It has been
practiced for thousands of years originating in Japan during the
1800’s by Mikao Usui.
What is meant by “healing”?
Healing refers to the balancing of the energy, sometimes called
chi or prana, in the body to heal itself.
What are the benefits of Reiki?
Reiki has been proven to have a calming effect on the body. It
can restore balance to the body. It supports the body’s
natural ability to heal itself on an emotional, physical, mental
or spiritual level.
Can Reiki cure disease?
Reiki is not intended to cure a disease. It does however, improve
the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Who can receive Reiki energy?
Reiki can be given to all people and animals. It is not associated
with religion, therefore, it is open to all. Animals are more
sensitive to the Reiki energy and usually exhibit a quicker response
than people.
Who is qualified to perform Reiki?
Traditional Reiki practitioners are trained under the direction
of a Traditional Reiki Master. Traditional Reiki Practitioners
like myself practice using the same training initiated by Mikao
Usui himself.
What occurs during a Reiki session?
A Reiki session can last 30 minutes to an hour. The animal receiving
the Reiki energy can either sit near or at a distance and only
absorbs the healing energy its body needs.
Therefore, an animal cannot receive too much Reiki energy. A customized
plan can be discussed after the initial session if so desired.
